This step assumes you have completed the previous procedures in :
Step 2: How do you Verify your New Account?
If you have not, please go to the link above and complete the procedures there first.
This article is to help perform the last part of the verification process using facial recognition on your smartphone.
If you wish to perform this on your desktop or PC, please refer to this article instead.
If you have, please continue on this article.
1. Please make sure you have :
a. Your smartphone ready on-hand
b. Sufficient light to clearly take selfies of your face
2. Make sure you have the "Submit identity card (front)" page on your screen from the end of the previous guide (Step 2: How do you Verify your New Account?)
Click on the blue "Continue on phone" button.
3. A screen will pop up stating the following processes. Click on the blue "Get secure link" button.
4. A QR code will pop up. Scan this code with your smartphone's QR code scanner.
(Instructions on how to scan a QR code are available by clicking on the "How to scan a QR code" link.)
5. Once you have successfully scanned the QR code on your phone, the screen on your PC will change to the one below:
6. Your smartphone might prompt you to open a webpage or automatically take you to a site that looks like the one below.
Press the blue "Take photo" button.
7. Your phone camera should turn on. Please take a photo of the front of your identity document (Ex.: IC, passport, etc.) that shows your face and name clearly.
It is recommended that:
a. The photo is taken in a place with good lighting.
b. The identity document is taken with some space around it. Please make sure you can see the edges/sides of the identity document clearly. (An example is shown below.)
Press the "OK" button after taking the picture or the "Retry" button if you need to take another picture.
8. The site will then ask you to take a photo of the back of your identity document.
Note: If your identity document is a passport, it will not ask you for a photo of the back of your identity document. In this case, please skip to Step 11.
Press the blue "Take photo" button.
9. Your phone camera should turn on again. Please take a photo of the back of your identity document that shows the ID number of your document clearly.
It is recommended that:
a. The photo is taken in a place with good lighting.
b. The identity document is taken with some space around it. Please make sure you can see the edges/sides of the identity document clearly. (An example is shown below)
Press the "OK" button after taking the picture or the "Retry" button if you need to take another picture. If "OK", it will ask you to confirm.
10. If everything seems OK, press the blue "Confirm" button.
11. In the next step, the site will inform you that a selfie is required. Please read the instructions carefully.
Press the blue "Continue" button.
12. The site will ask you for permission to access your camera.
Press the blue "Enable camera" button to continue.
13. After that, it is possible that your phone itself will ask you again to give permission to the site to use your camera.
Press the "Allow" button.
Then, make sure that your face is situated in the centre of the circle and press the round camera shutter button.
14. It will then take you to a confirmation page.
If you are satisfied with your selfie (Please make sure there is sufficient lighting and it clearly shows your face), press the blue "Confirm" button.
If you are not satisfied, click the "Redo" button.
15. If everything goes well and the pictures taken with your camera is uploaded, the site will inform you that you can now close the site on the phone and go back to your computer.
16. Back on your computer, the system will update to inform you that everything is ready to be submitted.
Click on the blue "Submit verification" button.
17. Upon successful submission, your account page will show that your account is pending verification.
18. That's it for verifying your account! Once our compliance team has vetted through your submission, you will be notified via email OR you can periodically check by logging into your account.
